Lawson quits Standard to join Aviva

Pensions guru John Lawson has left Standard Life to take up a new role with rival Aviva.

Formerly Standard Life’s head of pensions policy, Lawson will take up the new role of head of policy, corporate benefits, with Aviva in January 2013.

He will report to Aviva managing director, corporate benefits, Graham Boffey.

Boffey says: “I’m delighted that John Lawson is joining the Aviva team at a time when our workplace business is gaining significant momentum.  As head of policy, John will use his industry expertise and insight  to further shape our end-to-end corporate business,  and to ensure we get it right for our customers.

“The workplace market is evolving swiftly, driven by pension reform and the changing demands of employees and employers – I am confident John will strengthen Aviva’s voice at this crucial time.”

A spokesperson for Standard Life says: “John has left Standard Life to pursue a new opportunity. He leaves with our best wishes.”
