Tennis legend John McEnroe is fronting a marketing campaign to promote Aegon’s new online retirement readiness tool.
The famously petulant seven time Grand Slam singles champion plays the role of a star who has to resort to door-to-door sales because he cannot afford to retire to promote Aegon’s Retiready digital tool, which front-ends a D2C pension and Isa set-up and transfer system.
The film, the first of several in which he features, acts as a prompt to those approaching retirement to think about how financially prepared they are.
Aegon UK is currently the lead partner of British Tennis
John McEnroe says: “It is great to be working with a company that is such a big supporter of tennis. It’s important to plan for your retirement. It’s definitely easier to plan and save for your retirement than to have to win 155 professional tennis titles to pay for it.
Aegon UK managing director David Macmillan says: “John is not just a tennis legend but he is also a fantastic example of someone who is making the most of his retirement.”
