Phillip Marshall, a former professional footballer with Wigan Athletic FC, has joined health cash plan provider Medicash as business development manager.
Marshall, aged 36, is tasked with raising awareness of the firm’s corporate cash plans, targeting the intermediary market, focusing on the North of England and Scotland.
Medicash has also appointed Carl Williams as business development manager. He is charged with selling direct to businesses including new and prospective clients in Greater Manchester and the North of England.
Marshall played for Wigan Athletic FC from 1991 until 1995, making more than 100 appearances before going on to play in New Zealand. His previous roles include stints at the Mortgage Advice Bureau and Trafalgar International, an international financial planning and wealth management firm where he was responsible for Ukraine.
Medicash chief executive Sue Weir says: “Phillip and Carl are the latest additions to the growing Medicash corporate sales team, as we continue to extend our reach across the corporate market.”
