Ring made CEO at Capita as Burns becomes chairman

Capita Employee Benefits has appointed Susan Ring to the role of chief executive, replacing Nick Burns who becomes chairman of the business.

Burns launched Capita Employee Benefits in October 2012, following the merger of Bluefin Corporate Consulting and Capita’s pension administration firm, Capita Hartshead.

Ring joined Capita Employee Benefits as chief operating officer in September 2013 and has been responsible for overseeing all business functions since then. Previously, Susan was regional managing director of Capita Life and Pensions and, prior to joining Capita, she was the chief executive of Unum’s UK and European operations. The appointments were made last Friday.

Burns says: “I have really enjoyed working side by side with so many talented and committed people as we have merged two fine businesses to create the largest UK-owned employee benefits firm. Our record-breaking growth in profits has only been possible because of their energy and passion, combined with a client-centric approach that now runs through the DNA of this business.

“I look forward to supporting Susan and the executive team as the firm continues on its growth trajectory. Our market is bursting with opportunity. Our clients need us to innovate with them as they tackle the global change in social behaviour. The audience of many is transforming to the audience of one.”

Ring says: “I am looking forward to continuing to work with Nick as we look to fulfill our growth strategy. Our talented people, great clients, leading-edge technology solutions and award winning consultancy and administration services provide the perfect platform to achieve this.”
