HSF health plan is a health cash plan provider in the UK and Ireland. It was established in 1873 as The Hospital Saturday Fund, when workers put aside money on Saturdays to contribute towards the upkeep of local hospitals.
HSF health plan offers businesses and their employees a range of cash plans covering dental and optical care, complementary therapies and help towards the costs of specialist consultations and medical treatment.
These company schemes are run on a voluntary, part-funded or fully-funded basis and automatically cover employees’ spouse/partner and dependent children at no extra cost. The plans also include HSF Assist, an employee assistance programme, which provides a counselling service, legal helpline and immediate access to a GP.
The Hospital Saturday Fund changed its name to HSF health plan in early 2007, while retaining its original name for its newly created parent company. In 2008, The Hospital Saturday Fund became a registered charity, with HSF health plan operating as its trading subsidiary.
